bok tech alumni

Bok Tech has an active and engaged alumni network, and we love hosting former Wildcats in the building for events and fundraising. Keep an eye out every August for our annual Alumni Day, where former students and community members can mingle, swap memories, play pick-up basketball, and dance the day away at Bok Bar!

the stoop

Transformed in partnership with Southwark School and StoryCorps in 2014 thanks to the support of the Knight Foundation, the vacant space along the western perimeter of the building became a new community amenity – one that provides a space for gathering and encourages interaction between neighbors. It is now home to the South Philly Community Fridge, bus stop seating, bike parking, a play space, and a public dog park, plus hosts many neighborhood events throughout the year.

community partnerships

Our partnerships are critical to the success of Bok. We continuously work with a variety of organizations and nonprofits in South Philly and beyond to collaborate and support our tenant, neighborhood, and city communities.

Bok is also proud to be a resource center for our South Philly neighbors, offering services such as free Covid tests and testing during the pandemic, and acting as a polling place on voting days. The Wyss Wellness Center in Bok provides care for local immigrant communities.

One of our most valuable partnerships has been with our neighbor, Southwark School, a public K-8 community school that has flourished under the leadership of Principal Lukov. Their 3rd grade students helped inform the design of our South Philly Stoop, and we work closely and regularly on events, resource sharing, and more.

Some of our other core partnerships include our local RCO, the EPX Civic Association, as well as SEAMAAC, Puentes de Salud, South Philadelphia Community Fridge, EPCC, Bok Tech alumni, and many more.

Bok is also home to many tenant nonprofits that support our surrounding community, including Cambodian American Girls Empowering (CAGE), Girls Inc., Garces Foundation, Federation of Neighborhood Centers, Phillips Black, and The Welcoming Center.
